I am hooked. Now I have six caterpillars on a rapidly disappearing parsley plant — and I want to save them. But I need to buy a habitat for them, locally and immediately, and fill it with parsley from Publix — I guess. And — add twigs — I guess. And i guess I must plant another parsley plant for the mother.
Please help.
Thank you.

Hello Bradford,
I have found a good container to use is a plastic box with a removable, vented lid. They are called Critter Cages and available in various sizes in most pet stores. I put a paper towel in the bottom and some larval plant in a container of water, covered so the caterpillars do not fall in. If you are needing to purchase parsley, I strongly recommend you purchase organic parsley at somewhere like The Granary so it will not have pesticides on it. The pesticides will kill the caterpillars. They can also eat dill, and fennel. You need to keep the cage cleaned and replace the food as needed. Good luck. Black swallowtails are beautiful.
Sincerely,
Beverly
Thanks — I am on my way
